My grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease last year. It was a stressful time, but we managed to keep her stable by cooking fresh, salt-free meals at home and monitoring her blood parameters closely.

I tried so many different ayurvedic and home remedies to improve my kidney numbers, but nothing worked and my creatinine actually shot up. In the end, only regular medical treatment and a strict low-potassium, low-sodium diet kept me safe.

At stage 4, your kidney function is severely reduced. Please do not trust any WhatsApp forwards or herbal powders claiming to cure this, as they can cause sudden, life-threatening kidney failure. Stick strictly to a qualified nephrologist's advice.

When I was told my kidney disease had reached stage 4, I spent weeks crying and feeling absolutely hopeless. It is a heavy emotional burden to carry, so please allow yourself to feel those emotions, but don't give up on the treatment.

My mother's doctor explained that stage 4 means severe kidney damage where the kidneys filter blood at only 15% to 29% of normal capacity. The main clinical goal here is to manage complications like anemia, bone issues, and high blood pressure.

Stage 4 means an eGFR between 15 and 29, which requires planning for future treatments. We consulted a top nephrologist at a major hospital, and they clearly explained the options of dialysis versus transplant so we could plan practically.

Please be very careful; my uncle had severe breathing issues and heart strain at stage 4 due to fluid buildup. You must have regular follow-ups with a nephrologist to manage water retention and electrolyte levels safely.

I totally get it, seeing 'stage 4' on your medical reports can make you feel completely numb and scared. It is a very tough phase, but with proper medical management and family support, many people stay stable for a long time.

Since I manage diabetes, I know that stage 4 kidney disease is a very critical phase. You have to be extremely strict about your blood sugar levels and avoid foods high in potassium, like bananas and potatoes, to prevent fluid overload.

My father's kidney function had slipped into stage 4 after a severe infection, but with intensive hospital care and proper medication, his GFR improved slightly and stabilized. Definitely get a detailed evaluation to see what can be managed.
