What is stage 3 chronic kidney disease?

My mother was recently told she has stage 3 chronic kidney disease. It sounds serious, and I'm trying to understand what this means for her health. Could someone please explain what stage 3 chronic kidney disease is?

Stage 3 means your kidneys have moderate damage and aren't filtering blood as they should. Please don't ignore this, as I had severe fluid retention complications by neglecting my doctor's advice. You must consult a qualified nephrologist to stop it from progressing.

I ignored my mild swelling and fatigue for months, thinking it was just work stress, and really regretted it later. Stage 3 is a big warning sign from your body. Go get your GFR and creatinine checked properly before things get worse.

Think of it as your kidney's engine running on a low battery, but it hasn't broken down completely yet! With the right fuel and a good mechanic (aka a nephrologist), you can easily keep the car running for years. No need to panic!

Honestly, do not search for herbal juices or home remedies on YouTube for stage 3 kidney issues. Many of those can actually overload your kidneys and cause permanent damage. Strictly follow what your doctor prescribes.

Stage 3 CKD requires some serious lifestyle adjustments, but it's totally manageable with a busy job. I schedule my blood tests on weekends and use apps to track my low-sodium meals. It is all about planning and discipline.

I literally lost sleep for a week when my GFR report came back indicating stage 3. But my doctor explained that with basic dietary changes and proper medicines, the decline can be paused. Now my parameters are stable and I feel perfectly healthy.

I totally understand the anxiety and heavy feeling you must be going through right now. Seeing 'chronic' on a medical report is incredibly scary. Just take a deep breath; this is a very slow-moving condition and you have plenty of time to manage it safely.

Beta, stage 3 means your kidneys are working at roughly 30 to 59 percent capacity. It sounds frightening, but many people live normal, long lives at this stage just by controlling their salt intake and blood pressure. Don't worry, you can manage this.
