What is squamous cell cancer?

My neighbor was recently diagnosed with a type of cancer, and I overheard the doctor mention 'squamous cell cancer.' I'm trying to understand what this specifically refers to, as I know there are many types of cancer.

Basically, it's a type of cancer that starts in the flat, thin cells, called squamous cells, that make up the outer part of your skin. It can happen in other places too, like the lining of some organs. Best to get it checked if you suspect anything, don't wait.

Oh, never heard of it related to food, but I guess anything can happen, right? Makes me think about all the good stuff I eat and how important a balanced diet is. Maybe I should swap that extra gulab jamun for a fruit sometimes, haan?

From what I understand, it's a common skin cancer, usually from sun exposure. That's why sunscreen is super important, even if you're just stepping out for a bit. And a healthy lifestyle, good nutrition, helps build overall immunity against all sorts of issues.

It's a type of growth, dear. Always important to take care of our body, which is a temple. Stay positive, eat satvic food, and if there's any concern, consult a good doctor. Peace of mind is also very important for healing.
