What is sleep talking?

My younger brother often talks in his sleep, and sometimes it's full sentences! My mom says he's 'sleep talking'. Is this common, and what exactly is 'sleep talking'?

People online will tell you to drink some root tea or do random things to stop sleep talking. Honestly, don't trust these random internet remedies. If it's disrupting your sleep, go verify with a real doctor.

My husband talks in his sleep almost every other night, sometimes full sentences! I am no doctor so I won't give medical advice, but we noticed it happens much more when he is highly stressed with work.

Agreed, it is usually very harmless and common. Just making sure you get 7-8 hours of regular sleep can reduce how often it happens.

We went to a reputed hospital when my son's sleep talking became very loud and frequent. You should ask your doctor clearly about it, as they might want to check if it is linked to sleep apnea.

I was just reading about this yesterday because my roommate does it. It's called somniloquy, and apparently, most of the time we don't even remember saying anything when we wake up. Quite fascinating!

It's just sleep talking, totally normal for most people and usually triggered by exhaustion or anxiety. Unless you are shouting or waking up gasping, there is absolutely no need to stress over it.
