What is severe sleep apnea?

My husband snores very loudly, and sometimes he stops breathing for a few seconds in his sleep, which scares me. His doctor recently suggested he might have 'severe sleep apnea'. What exactly does 'severe' mean in this context, and is it very dangerous?

Severe sleep apnea basically means your breathing stops many times during sleep, like over 30 times an hour. This can be serious for your heart and brain. My doctor at Apollo told me it needs proper diagnosis and treatment, usually with a CPAP machine. Don't self-diagnose, please consult a good specialist.

Sleep apnea can be quite worrying, especially if it's severe. It's when your breathing pauses a lot while you sleep. Take care, and definitely get it checked out by a doctor.

Severe sleep apnea, haan? My uncle had something similar. It means your breathing keeps stopping when you sleep. It's not good, affects your oxygen. Practical solution is to go to a sleep clinic, they do a test, and usually recommend a machine called CPAP. It helps a lot, don't ignore it.

Oh, severe sleep apnea means your breath is not flowing freely during rest, which can affect your whole system. I've seen some people find relief with specific pranayama techniques that strengthen the breath, but first, a doctor's opinion is very important to understand the severity. Your breathing is your life force.

Oh, severe sleep apnea? That's when your body decides to play hide-and-seek with your breath in the middle of the night! Like, 'peek-a-boo, oxygen!' It sounds scary, but doctors have good ways to manage it these days. Don't let it steal your zzz's, just get it checked!

Severe sleep apnea is when you stop breathing for short periods many times in the night. While diet alone cannot cure it, I've heard that avoiding heavy meals close to bedtime and reducing processed foods can sometimes help reduce symptoms. But this is definitely something that needs proper medical advice, not just diet changes.
