What is severe pain?

I've been experiencing a sharp, constant pain in my lower back for the last few days that just doesn't go away with normal painkillers. My wife said it sounds like 'severe pain'. How do doctors classify pain as 'severe'?

Severe pain, for me, is any pain that stops me from my routine, like checking my sugar levels or having my balanced meals. It's not just discomfort, it's debilitating. If you're experiencing something like that, especially if it's sudden or unusual, please don't just endure it. See a doctor immediately. It's not about food or diet in that moment, it's about a medical emergency.

Severe pain... that sounds really terrifying. I get anxious even with moderate pain, so I can only imagine. Is it like, when you can't even move or think straight? And how do doctors even assess if it's truly 'severe'? I worry about being taken seriously if I ever experience something like that. Has anyone here had truly severe pain, and what was it like?

Severe pain? Oh god, that's like when you have a terrible toothache and can't even think about your favorite golgappas! 😩 It's pain that's so intense, it makes everything else disappear, and you just want it to stop. Seriously, if it's that bad, you need to see a doctor ASAP, not just try to distract yourself with food!

Severe pain... is it like, the highest level of pain? How do you even measure that? Does it mean you can't do anything at all? I hope no one has to experience that. What usually causes such intense pain?

Severe pain is basically pain that's so intense, it's debilitating. It completely disrupts your daily life, makes it hard to focus, sleep, or do anything. It's beyond just discomfort; it's a signal that something significant might be wrong and needs immediate attention. If you're going through that, please don't try to tough it out. Get to a doctor right away, it's a practical and necessary step.

Oh, severe pain can feel absolutely terrifying, I know! I once had a really bad migraine and thought it was the end. But severe pain is generally defined as pain that's so intense it prevents you from doing normal activities, causes distress, and needs immediate intervention. It's usually rated high on a pain scale (like 7-10 out of 10). While it feels awful, it's important to remember it's a signal, and doctors can help manage it. Don't panic, but do seek help fast.

Hey! Don't stress too much if you're experiencing pain. But 'severe pain' means it's really, really bad – like, you can't ignore it, and it makes you stop whatever you're doing. It's usually a clear sign that you NEED to see a doctor quickly. Don't try to be brave or wait it out, yaar. Get it checked; your health is more important!
