What is secondary breast cancer?

A relative of mine was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and they also mentioned it was 'secondary breast cancer'. I'm trying to understand what secondary breast cancer means. Is it a recurrence or something else entirely?

Exactly, it is when breast cancer spreads to other parts of the body like bones or lungs. It is very important to get a proper oncologist's evaluation for advanced treatment options.

Look, secondary breast cancer is advanced-stage cancer that has spread. This is not something to discuss lightly on internet forums. Go straight to a certified oncologist and follow their treatment protocol strictly without any delay.

This is a very tough diagnosis where the cancer has spread beyond the breast. While healthy, fresh home-cooked food and warm ginger tea can help ease some chemotherapy side effects, please remember that only proper medical treatments from a top oncologist can manage this condition. Stay strong and take care.

My sister went through this diagnosis, also called metastatic breast cancer. It sounds terrifying, but modern targeted therapies and hormone treatments have come a long way in managing it as a chronic illness. Always get a second opinion from a reputable cancer institute to plan the best path forward.
