What is seasonal asthma?

My daughter starts coughing and wheezing almost every year during monsoon season. Her pediatrician mentioned it might be seasonal asthma. What exactly is seasonal asthma and how is it different from regular asthma?

Haan na, this seasonal change triggers such bad breathing issues for so many people. It's basically asthma that flares up only during specific times, like when there is too much pollen or winter cold. Just make sure to keep your inhaler handy when the weather starts shifting.

Seasonal asthma can lead to sudden, severe bronchospasms if triggered by weather changes or high pollen counts. If you experience shortness of breath, wheezing, or chest tightness, please consult a pulmonologist immediately. Do not self-medicate with over-the-counter cough syrups.

Seasonal asthma is when allergens like pollen or cold air trigger airway inflammation during specific seasons. If you love outdoor runs, try shifting your cardio indoors during peak pollen seasons. Keep your cardiovascular health strong, but never push through a breathing struggle.

My ten-year-old son gets terrible wheezing every October when the weather changes and pollution rises. We have to start his preventive nebulization as advised by his pediatrician. If your child is struggling to breathe or has a persistent dry cough, please see a doctor immediately.

According to weather and air quality apps, high pollen counts and PM2.5 levels during season changes are the main triggers for seasonal asthma. I suggest tracking the daily AQI before stepping out for activities. If you have symptoms, it's best to consult a doctor for a preventive inhaler plan.

It is when our breath becomes heavy during certain seasons as nature shifts. Stay calm, keep a positive mind, and practice very gentle breathing exercises in a dust-free room. Take good care of your health and let your body heal naturally alongside your doctor's care.
