What is scalp psoriasis?

My father has some red, flaky patches on his scalp and the doctor mentioned it might be scalp psoriasis. What exactly is this condition and how does it affect the scalp? It looks quite uncomfortable for him.

I literally just got my scalp psoriasis under control last month! It looks like severe dandruff but it actually bleeds if you scratch those thick plaques. Honestly, regular salicylic acid washes and reducing stress was what finally cleared it up for me.

It is basically an autoimmune condition that causes red, itchy, and scaly patches on your scalp. Since we don't have time for long daily treatments, getting a proper medicated coal tar shampoo prescribed by a dermatologist is the most efficient way to manage it. Don't waste time on random hair oils.

Beta, this is a skin disease that makes the head very dry and itchy with white flakes. Please do not scratch it with your nails as it can cause infection. Go to a good government doctor in town and they will give you a safe lotion to apply.

My roommate had this and he used to feel so embarrassed because of the flakes on his black t-shirts. He thought it was dry skin, but the doc said it's psoriasis. Medicated lotions sorted it out for him pretty fast, so don't worry.

It is a skin condition that often flares up when the body and mind are under stress. Along with the doctor's medicine, try to spend ten minutes in silent meditation and deep breathing daily. Keeping your inner self calm helps heal the skin beautifully.

Look, scalp psoriasis is not standard dandruff that will go away with normal shampoo. It's a proper skin issue and you need a dermatologist's help. Don't experiment with heavy home remedies, just get a professional checkup done.
