What is rapid eye movement sleep?

Sometimes I wake up feeling like I've had a very vivid dream, almost like I was moving my eyes a lot in my sleep. My brother told me about 'rapid eye movement sleep'. Can you explain what happens during this stage?

I used to track my sleep because I felt so emotionally drained every morning. REM sleep is the phase where you dream and your brain processes emotions. Lacking this sleep phase can really mess with your mental health, I completely understand the struggle.

REM sleep is the deep dream state vital for memory and learning. To improve it, keep a consistent sleep schedule and cut out caffeine after 4 PM. Trust me, fixing your sleep hygiene is the best way to get quality REM cycles.

Yaar, REM sleep is actually that sleep stage where your eyes move rapidly and you see crazy dreams. It is super important for your brain to recharge. If you aren't getting enough, you feel totally exhausted the next day.

It is the active stage of sleep where dreaming happens and your brain cleanses itself. I always get better REM cycles when I complete a 30-minute evening walk. Keeping your body active really helps improve sleep structure naturally.

REM sleep is when your brain is super active and your body is basically paralyzed so you don't act out your dreams. I read about this when I had sleep paralysis once. It's a completely normal part of our daily sleep cycle.
