What is pfps pain?

I've started running recently, and my knees have been hurting, especially after a long run. My physiotherapist mentioned something about 'PFPS pain'. What exactly is that, and is it a serious injury?

PFP pain, or Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, is basically pain around the kneecap. It's often called 'runner's knee'. I once had similar knee discomfort, and with my thyroid, I always make sure to get any persistent pain checked out. It could be due to muscle imbalance or overuse. A physiotherapist or orthopaedic doctor can diagnose it properly and suggest exercises or treatment.

Oh, PFPS, I've heard of that! It's like, pain around your kneecap, right? Often happens if you do a lot of running or squats. I remember reading about it when my friend started having knee pain after joining a gym. It's important to get it checked so it doesn't get worse.

I totally get how frustrating knee pain can be! PFPS, or Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, is that nagging pain right around your kneecap, especially when going up or down stairs, or after sitting for a long time. It's super common, especially if you're active. Don't ignore it; a good physio can really help.

PFPS, or Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, is a condition characterized by pain in the front of the knee, around the kneecap. It's often due to repetitive stress or issues with how the kneecap moves. While rest and physical therapy are common treatments, a definitive diagnosis from an orthopaedic specialist or physiotherapist is crucial for effective management.

PFPS pain usually means pain in and around the kneecap, often worsened by activities like running or squatting. While it's frequently associated with overuse or muscle imbalances, it's always best to get a professional diagnosis. Just like with PCOS, sometimes symptoms can overlap, so a proper medical evaluation is key to rule out anything else and get the right treatment plan.
