What is perinatal mental health?

Since having my baby a few months ago, I've been feeling very overwhelmed and anxious, more than I expected. My doctor suggested I look into 'perinatal mental health'. What exactly is perinatal mental health?

Perinatal mental health is so important, it covers the emotional well-being of mothers during pregnancy and after childbirth. I always focus on a sattvic diet for mental clarity, and proper nutrition is key during this sensitive time. But for any serious mental health concerns, professional help is a must.

Oh, this is such an important topic. Back in our days, we just called it 'post-delivery blues' or 'tension'. But it's more than that. It's the mental journey a woman goes through from conception till after the baby is born. It can be very overwhelming. New mothers need so much love and understanding, and medical help if they are struggling. Don't feel ashamed, beti.

Perinatal mental health basically refers to the mental and emotional well-being of a woman during pregnancy and up to a year after delivery. It includes things like anxiety, depression, and even more severe conditions. It's super important to talk about it openly and get support, either from family or professionals if needed. Don't suffer in silence.

Perinatal mental health? It's simply the mental state of mothers during and after pregnancy. Often overlooked but super crucial. Issues like postpartum depression are real, and expecting or new mothers need all the support, mental health checks, and therapy if required. No stigma attached, just practical help.

Perinatal mental health is about keeping the mind fit during and after pregnancy. I always tell people that physical activity, even just light walks if the doctor allows, can really boost your mood. But seriously, mental health is just as important as physical. If things feel off, definitely talk to a doctor or therapist.

It's about how mothers feel emotionally around pregnancy and after the baby comes. Sometimes new moms feel really low or anxious, which is common. Simple things like good rest and talking to loved ones help, but if it feels too much, please, please see a doctor. Home remedies won't fix everything.
