What is pain threshold?

My gym trainer was explaining something about 'pain threshold' and how it varies for everyone. I'm trying to understand what this term actually refers to and if it can be improved. Is it just how much pain you can take?

Yaar, pain threshold is actually just the point where you first start to feel pain. Like, how much stimulus it takes for you to say, 'ouch!' It's different for everyone, right? Some people are more sensitive, some less. It's not about how much pain you can *handle*, that's tolerance.

Yeah, pain threshold is basically the exact point where you start feeling pain. It's different from pain tolerance, which is how much pain you can actually withstand. Knowing your own body and how it responds is super important, so it's good you're asking!

Isn't it amazing how different everyone's pain threshold is? Like, some people flinch at a small scratch, and others can handle so much. I sometimes wonder if my threshold is too low. Does anyone else feel like that?

If you're asking about pain threshold, it's the minimum intensity of a stimulus that is perceived as pain. It's a physiological response. If you have concerns about your own pain levels or medical conditions affecting it, please speak with a doctor at a good hospital. They can explain it precisely based on your health.

Oh, so pain threshold is the minimum point where you first sense pain, like a slight prick? I always thought it was the same as how much pain you can bear. So, does that mean everyone's threshold is quite similar, but tolerance is very different?
