What is migraine hangover?

After a really bad migraine, I often feel completely drained, with brain fog and just generally unwell, like a hangover. Is this a common thing? What is a 'migraine hangover'?

Migraine hangover, also known as the postdrome phase, is the exhaustion, brain fog, and sensitivity that can last for hours or even a day after a migraine attack. I always advise asking your neurologist clearly about all phases of migraine, including this 'hangover' part, for better management. They'll have the best advice.

It's the feeling of being drained and unwell after a migraine, almost like a real hangover. I've seen friends struggle with this. When I feel low energy, even light exercise like a brisk walk helps me feel better, if my doctor permits. But for a migraine hangover, rest is probably the main thing.

My sister suffers from migraines, and she often complains about this 'migraine hangover.' She says she feels completely wiped out, foggy, and sensitive to everything for a day after the actual headache subsides. I can't give medical advice, but I've seen how debilitating it can be for her.

Migraine hangover? Oh yeah, my roommate gets this after his migraines. He's totally out of it, like super tired and can't focus on anything. Says it's almost worse than the headache sometimes. He just sleeps it off if he can.

The migraine hangover, also called postdrome, is when you feel utterly exhausted, sensitive to light/sound, and have trouble concentrating even after the pain is gone. It's actually a recognized part of the migraine cycle. It sounds really draining, and I can only imagine how difficult it must be for those who experience it regularly.
