What is liver enzymes high?

My recent blood work showed that my 'liver enzymes are high'. The doctor said it needs further investigation, but I'm quite anxious about it. What does it mean when liver enzymes are high?

High liver enzymes (like SGOT and SGPT) mean your liver is slightly inflamed or stressed. I had this last year, and besides the doctor's advice, drinking warm water, eating simple bottle gourd (lauki) sabzi, and having amla juice daily really helped cool down my liver. Keep your diet very light and oil-free for a few weeks.

Don't worry too much, high liver enzymes are actually very common and often just indicate temporary inflammation from fatty food, a medication, or a mild infection. Get a proper LFT done and show it to a doctor. It's usually easily reversible with some lifestyle tweaks.

It basically means enzymes like ALT and AST have leaked into your bloodstream, signalling liver irritation. If you have a busy lifestyle, poor sleep and eating out can easily cause this. Skip the Google searches, show the report to a general physician, and get a quick ultrasound done if they recommend it.

Bhai, jab liver me thodi sujan aati hai tab ye enzyme badh jate hain. Pareshan mat ho, tel-masala bilkul band kar do aur ubla hua khana khao kuch din. Aur haan, doctor babu ko report zaroor dikha lena taaki sahi salah mil sake.

My SGPT came back as 85 last week and I've been so stressed about it ever since! Does anyone else feel super tired or get mild stomach pain with high enzymes, or is it just my anxiety making me feel things? I am planning to see a doctor this weekend.

Elevated liver enzymes indicate liver cell injury, which can be due to fatty liver, alcohol, or even regular painkiller use. When I got my reports, I went to a good gastroenterologist and had them explain the exact numbers. I suggest you do the same instead of trying to decode the ranges yourself.

Please don't ignore high liver enzymes thinking it's just 'gas' or simple indigestion. I ignored my elevated reports for a year, and it turned into a more severe fatty liver condition that took months to control. Get it evaluated by a doctor now and fix your lifestyle before it gets worse.

Yes, high enzymes usually indicate some liver stress. It's best to get an ultrasound done to rule out fatty liver, as my doctor suggested when mine were high.

I totally get it, seeing red marks on your blood reports can make you feel extremely stressed. Elevated enzymes usually just mean the liver is slightly irritated. Take a deep breath, talk to your doctor, and they will likely suggest some simple dietary changes to bring them back to normal.

High ALT/AST is super common if you eat a lot of junk or even after highly intense workouts sometimes. Clean up your diet, cut down on alcohol and heavy proteins if you're taking supplements, and retest after 3 weeks. Always good to run it by a physician though.

With PCOS, insulin resistance can often lead to a mild fatty liver and elevated enzymes. I had this issue too, but I avoided self-treating and worked with my doctor to manage my diet. Please get proper medical advice to see what works for your body.

Beta, in our long life we have seen these reports go up and down many times. High enzymes just mean the liver is working a bit harder due to some load. Drink lots of water, eat fresh home food, and follow your doctor's advice. It will all settle down nicely, don't take tension.

High liver enzymes basically means my love for late-night samosas and tea is catching up with me! It's just the liver complaining about the extra workload. Time to cut down the grease, listen to the doc, and pretend to enjoy boiled veggies for a bit.

It means our liver is sending a warning sign to stop ordering butter chicken every weekend! High enzymes are basically a call to pause the heavy food cravings and switch to light, simple home-cooked meals for a while. Let your liver recover before your next food adventure.

Thyroid issues can sometimes affect liver function tests, leading to slightly high enzymes. I make it a point to get both my thyroid panel and LFT checked regularly every six months. Regular follow-up with your endocrinologist or physician is the safest way to track this.
