Haan, modern surgeries have improved a lot, na. Most people easily live a normal life for 10-15 years or more if they follow a clean lifestyle. Just stay away from alcohol and outside food completely to keep the new liver healthy.

Many patients live for 15 to 20 years or even longer after a successful liver transplant, depending on their overall health and how well they manage anti-rejection meds. However, every case is unique, so discussing the long-term prognosis with your transplant surgeon is the best approach.

When my father had his transplant at a major hospital, the specialist explained that life expectancy depends highly on post-care hygiene and strictly taking medicines on time. I suggest you sit down with your lead transplant doctor and ask all your doubts clearly.

While survival rates are very encouraging nowadays, there is always a risk of infections or organ rejection. It is absolutely crucial to stay in regular touch with the transplant clinic and get all prescribed blood tests done without fail.

Life expectancy can be great if the patient focuses on a healthy lifestyle post-recovery. Once the surgical wounds heal and the doctor permits, starting with gentle daily walks and eating home-cooked, low-fat meals makes a massive difference in recovery.
