What is left lower abdominal pain?

Since yesterday evening, I've been having some discomfort in my lower left abdomen. It's not severe, but it's consistent. What could be the common causes of 'left lower abdominal pain'?

Honestly, I had this exact same pain last year and was so scared. For me, it turned out to be simple kidney stones on the left side, which was caught in an ultrasound. I just stayed hydrated and took the meds my specialist gave me.

Beta, don't panic too much. At our age, and even for youngsters, a little left-side ache is very often just gas or a slow bowel movement. Give it a day, keep your meals simple like khichdi, and see how you feel. If it is sharp or doesn't go away, then consult a doctor.

Left lower tummy pain can be due to so many small things like gas, severe constipation, or even muscle strain. I always tell people to track if it happens after eating certain heavy foods. Just drink plenty of warm water today and notice if it gets better, but please don't ignore it if it stays bad.

Bro, I got this when I started doing heavy deadlifts without proper form. Thought something burst inside, but it was just a severe muscle pull. If you've been working out hard, that could definitely be it. Just rest it out for a few days.

Please be careful with pain in that specific area. I ignored mine thinking it was just generic period cramps, but it turned out to be a ruptured cyst that needed urgent care. If the pain is sudden, sharp, or makes you feel dizzy, please go to the hospital immediately.

I had left lower pain for months and it turned out to be IBS triggered by work stress. My tip is to maintain a simple food diary to see if dairy or gluten is causing the flare-up. Also, light walking after dinner helped me immensely in clearing up that trapped gas.

With my PCOS, I get left side twinges quite often during my ovulation phase. However, everyone's body is different, so it's hard to say what it is for you. If you have irregular periods or bloating too, it might be worth mentioning to a gynecologist.

We often see patients coming in with left-side pain which can be due to anything from diverticulitis to simple muscle spasms. Keep an eye on other symptoms like fever, vomiting, or loose motions. If any of those are present, it is best to visit a clinic soon rather than guessing at home.
