What is juvenile diabetes?

My cousin's child, who is just 7 years old, was recently diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. I always thought diabetes was an 'old person's' disease. What exactly is juvenile diabetes and why do young children get it?

From what I was reading, juvenile diabetes is another name for Type 1 diabetes, which usually gets diagnosed in kids and young adults. It is when the pancreas stops producing insulin. It is quite manageable with modern treatments.

It is Type 1 diabetes in kids. I once ignored constant thirst and weight loss in my family, which led to a major emergency later. If a child is drinking too much water and losing weight, get a blood sugar test done immediately.

Yeh bacchon mein hone waali Type 1 diabetes hoti hai, haan. Isme body mein insulin banna band ho jata hai. Bacchon ka khyal rakhna padta hai aur regular checkup zaroori hota hai, na.

My son has this, it is Type 1 diabetes. Managing it requires a strict routine of glucose monitoring and insulin, but kids adapt so beautifully. Please consult a specialist who can guide you through the daily care process patiently.

Juvenile diabetes is Type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune condition where the body attacks insulin-producing cells. It requires daily insulin management. A pediatric endocrinologist's guidance is absolutely essential for safe care.
