What is jungle fever?

I heard a character in an old movie mention 'jungle fever' and it piqued my curiosity. Is that an actual medical condition or just an old saying? What does it refer to?

Jungle fever is actually an old term used for malaria or yellow fever, yaar. Basically, diseases you get from mosquito bites in wild, forested areas. If someone has a high fever after traveling, they should definitely see a doctor.

Haan na, earlier people used to call malaria or yellow fever 'jungle fever' because it spread in dense forests. High fever with chills is serious, toh doctor ko dikhana hi padega.

It is an old-fashioned term for tropical diseases like malaria or dengue. If you or anyone has a high fever, just head to a clinic for a proper blood test. Take care!

It is just a fancy old name for malaria! Don't worry, we have excellent treatments for it now. Just get a standard blood test done and the doctor will sort it out in no time.

It refers to mosquito-borne diseases like malaria. My son had high fever after a camping trip once and we got so scared. Please get a proper blood test done immediately if there is a high fever.
