What is high pain tolerance?

My friend always seems to handle pain much better than me, even after an injury. He calls it 'high pain tolerance'. Is this an actual medical thing, or just a way of saying he's tough?

High pain tolerance means your body can handle a lot of physical pain before you really feel like crying or needing help. But honestly, I always worry that having too high a tolerance might make someone ignore serious internal symptoms until it is too late. Please still get checked if something feels off!

Haan na, some people don't even flinch during injections, that is high pain tolerance. It just means their nervous system or brain doesn't register pain as easily as others. Mere brother ka bhi same hai, he barely feels minor cuts.

I can literally walk around with a sprained ankle and not complain, which people say is a high pain tolerance. But does anyone else feel anxious that because of this, they might miss warning signs of a bigger medical issue? It's kind of scary to not know when a pain is actually dangerous.

High pain tolerance means your threshold for handling physical distress is quite high. Since dealing with my thyroid issues, I have learned that even if you can tolerate aches and fatigue, it is still better to get regular blood tests and consult your doctor to find the root cause.

It means you can step on a Lego piece and not scream your lungs out! It's basically a superpower where your brain ignores pain signals. Just don't use it to ignore actual medical issues, okay?

I totally get it, sometimes people expect you to just bear everything because you have a high pain tolerance. It basically means you can physically endure more discomfort than average. But please remember to be kind to yourself and rest when your body is hurting, even if you can bear it.

Having a high pain tolerance just means you can push through physical discomfort better than most. While that sounds tough, please don't play the hero when you are actually injured or unwell. Let a doctor look at any major pain so you stay safe.

It simply means your body can endure more pain than usual before you feel overwhelmed. It is a physical trait, but always listen to your body and rest when needed.

My physician at Fortis explained that pain tolerance is psychological and physiological, meaning how your brain processes pain signals. Even if you think you have a high pain tolerance, never use that as an excuse to avoid visiting a doctor for persistent or unexplained internal pains.

High pain tolerance is when you can bear significant discomfort without complaining. For diabetic patients, sometimes nerve damage can mimic high pain tolerance because they literally don't feel pain in their feet. Always get regular sensory checks done to make sure it's not neuropathy.
