What is gum disease called?

My gums have been bleeding a lot lately when I brush, and sometimes they feel really sensitive. My dentist said it could be 'gum disease', but I didn't quite catch the proper medical term for it. What is gum disease typically called by doctors? Is it a serious issue?

Oh, gum disease can be so stressful. I remember feeling really self-conscious about my breath and just generally worried. It's often called gingivitis first, and then it can become periodontitis if not treated. Don't let it go, okay? Get it checked.

Gum disease, haan? My dentist just calls it 'Rajesh, you're not flossing enough'. But yeah, the medical terms are gingivitis and periodontitis. Basically, it means your gums are having a bad day, or week, or year if you ignore it. Ugh, another thing to worry about.

Mainly it's called gingivitis in early stages, which can become periodontitis if it gets worse. For mild issues, rinsing with salt water or neem water can help, but if your gums are bleeding a lot or really swollen, you must see a dentist. Don't rely only on home remedies for severe stuff.

Namaste! Gum disease starts as gingivitis, which is inflammation of the gums. If not treated, it can progress to a more serious form called periodontitis, which affects the bone supporting your teeth. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups are key to preventing both. Take care of your teeth!

Haan ji, gum disease ko pehle toh gingivitis bolte hain. Fir agar zyada serious ho jaaye na, toh periodontitis kehte hain. Basically, isme masudo mein infection ho jaata hai. Best hai doc ko dikha do jaldi. Don't wait.
