What is good to drink after vomiting?

My son, he's 8, just had a stomach bug and was vomiting a lot. He's feeling very weak now. What is good to drink after vomiting to help him rehydrate and feel a bit better without upsetting his stomach again?

Ugh, after vomiting, all desire for my usual tasty treats just vanishes! Honestly, plain water is best, or maybe some clear broth if I can stomach it. Anything too sweet or fizzy just makes me feel worse, and I'm a big fan of fizzy drinks normally!

Please be very careful about what you drink after vomiting, especially if it's severe or continuous. Dehydration is a real risk. While sipping plain water or ORS is generally safe, avoid trying any unverified internet 'remedies'. If you can't keep anything down, or feel very weak, you need to see a doctor immediately, not try home concoctions.

After vomiting, your stomach is very delicate. My grandmother always said to take small sips of warm water, or a very light rice kanji (starch water). Some also say a little ginger tea without milk helps settle the stomach. But if the vomiting is too much, then one must go to the doctor, don't just rely on home remedies for too long.

Haan, ulti ke baad toh pet kharab ho jaata hai na? Mere ghar pe toh hamesha ORS dete hain thoda thoda karke. Aur haan, plain paani bhi theek hai. Zyada kuch cold ya spicy mat lena. Agar zyada der tak ulti ho rahi hai aur dehydration lag raha hai, toh seedha doctor ko dikhao.

After the stomach has been through such a turmoil, it needs gentle care. Sip on plain warm water slowly. You can also try a very diluted ginger tea, which has calming properties for the digestive system. Focus on small quantities and rest. Pranayama can help calm the mind too, which might ease nausea after the episode.

The most important thing after vomiting is to prevent dehydration. Small, frequent sips of ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) or plain water are usually recommended. Avoid sugary drinks, fruit juices, or milk for a while. If the vomiting persists, or if there's blood or severe pain, it's absolutely crucial to consult a doctor.
