What is good for fatty liver to eat?

My brother has been diagnosed with fatty liver, and the doctor told him to be careful about his diet. We are trying to figure out what specific foods he should focus on. What are some good things for someone with fatty liver to eat?

I go to Apollo Hospital for my checkups, and the doctors there always say to ask them directly about diet. Don't rely on general info. Ask your doctor or a dietician they recommend for a personalized plan, it makes a huge difference.

Betaji, jab mujhe fatty liver ka pata chala tha, tab doctors ne bahut saari cheezein mana ki thi. Par abhi, simple ghar ka khana, kam tel, kam cheeni, bas wahi sabse accha hai. Sab theek ho jayega dheere dheere, chinta mat karo.

Natural tips often include things like consuming more bitter gourd (karela) or drinking warm lemon water in the mornings. But for a diagnosed fatty liver, these are complements, not main treatment. You must be under a doctor's care for this, don't just rely on home remedies for such a condition.

My doctor emphasized a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids, found in flaxseeds, chia seeds, and walnuts. Also, lots of green leafy vegetables and lean protein. Crucially, avoiding high-fructose corn syrup, trans fats, and excessive alcohol is non-negotiable. Portion control is also a big factor.

Having PCOS, I've learned that diet changes are super impactful but also very personal. For fatty liver, focusing on a balanced, low-glycemic diet with plenty of fiber seems logical. But I wouldn't say for sure what to eat without a proper doctor's consultation. Everyone's body reacts differently.
