What is ggt in a liver function test?

Had my annual health check-up, and my liver function test results showed something called 'GGT'. The doctor said it was slightly elevated. What exactly is GGT and what does it indicate in a liver function test?

GGT in a liver function test means Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase. It's an enzyme found in the liver, and if its levels are high, it usually points to liver damage or issues with bile ducts. Sometimes alcohol abuse can raise it too. Don't worry if it's slightly high, but a doctor will tell you if it's serious and needs further investigation.

It's totally normal to feel a bit anxious when looking at LFT results and seeing terms like GGT. GGT stands for Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase. It's an enzyme, and high levels can indicate liver or bile duct issues. It's just one piece of the puzzle, so don't jump to conclusions. Your doctor will look at all your results together and explain everything. Just take a deep breath.

I totally get it, medical reports can be confusing. GGT, or Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase, is an enzyme in your liver. In a liver function test, if your GGT levels are elevated, it usually suggests some kind of liver or bile duct damage, or sometimes even related to alcohol use. It's a marker that helps doctors understand what might be going on with your liver. It's important to consult with a doctor for proper interpretation.

GGT, ho na, it's Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase. It's an enzyme in your liver. If it's high in your liver function test, it usually means there might be some issue with the liver or the bile ducts. Sometimes, alcohol se bhi badh jaata hai. Doc will tell you more, don't worry too much just yet. Hain na?

GGT? Another abbreviation for my sleep-deprived brain to remember! It's Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase, an enzyme. Basically, if it's high in your liver test, your liver might be sending a distress signal. Probably from all those late-night snacks or stress. Get it checked, definitely, before your liver goes on strike!

GGT in a liver function test refers to Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase. Elevated levels often indicate liver or bile duct issues. When I had some vague symptoms, my doctor at Apollo Hospital explained that such markers are part of a broader diagnostic picture. The best thing is to take your reports to a good physician and ask them to explain what each value means for *your* health. Don't rely on self-interpretation.
