What is fsgs kidney disease?

My elder brother recently had some tests done and the doctor mentioned something called FSGS. He was a bit worried so I wanted to understand what exactly this kidney disease is. Does it affect only adults or younger people too?

Beta, FSGS kidney disease sounds serious. It means the filtering units in your kidneys are getting damaged. We always say take care of your water intake and don't eat too much salty food. But for such a condition, you must see a good doctor, not rely on ghar ke nuskhe completely.

FSGS stands for Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis. It's a kidney disease where scar tissue forms in the glomeruli, which are tiny filters in your kidneys. This impairs their ability to filter waste. It can lead to kidney failure if not managed. Requires specialist medical attention.

My uncle actually has FSGS. It's a type of kidney disease where parts of the filters in your kidneys get scarred. It makes it hard for them to clean your blood. He has to be super careful with his diet and takes meds. It's a serious thing, man, needs proper doctor treatment.

FSGS is a pretty serious kidney issue. It means your kidneys aren't filtering properly. Diet plays a huge role in kidney health, so eating clean and managing protein intake would be crucial. Regular check-ups with your nephrologist are a must, along with gentle exercise if they approve.
