What is considered the functional unit of the kidney?

My father has some kidney issues, and the doctor was explaining things to us. He mentioned a 'functional unit' of the kidney, but I didn't quite catch the name. Can someone tell me what it's called?

That would be the nephron. To keep your nephrons functioning well and filtering waste, make sure you stay properly hydrated, especially if you are taking high-protein diets or lifting heavy.

I recently had a bad kidney infection and learned all about this. Nephrons are the tiny filters that do all the work in our kidneys, and keeping your fluid intake up is key to protecting them.

Yes, the nephron is indeed the functional unit of the kidney, responsible for filtering blood and removing toxins.

It's the nephron! Just like we need a good filter for our tea, our kidneys have millions of these tiny nephrons to filter out all the extra salt and spices from our favorite foods.

The nephron is the functional unit. When my daughter had some kidney issues, we learned how important it is to protect these delicate filters by avoiding too much processed food and sodas.

It’s called the nephron, buddy. I had to study this during my college bio class, each kidney has about a million of them working non-stop to filter out the waste.

Humare doctor sahib ne bataya tha ki kidney ke andar chhote-chhote chhalni jaise hote hain jise nephron kehte hain. Yeh khoon saaf karne ka kaam karte hain, isliye paani khoob peena chahiye.
