What is considered a fever?
My little one feels warm sometimes, and I'm never sure if it's a fever or just him being active. What exact temperature is considered a fever for a child? I need a clear number.

Honestly, anything above 100 F is a fever for me. If I feel hot and the thermometer says 99 F, I just ignore it and drink water. But once it crosses 100, I know I need to rest.
For children, we consider 100.4 F or higher as a fever. If it is just 99.5 F, I don't give any medicine, just dress them in light clothes and keep them hydrated. Always check with your paediatrician before giving any dosage.
Technically, a medical fever starts at 100.4 F (38 C). If your temperature is below that, your body is probably just slightly warm from a heavy workout or dehydration. Focus on drinking electrolytes and skip your workout until you feel completely normal.
A body temperature of 100.4 F and above is a proper fever. I monitor my temp closely because high fever can increase my heart rate and blood pressure. If you have chronic conditions, please consult your doctor instead of ignoring it.
A fever is officially 100.4 F. With thyroid issues, my body's temperature regulation is already a bit off, so I always get blood tests done if a fever lasts more than two days. Regular follow-ups with your doctor are very important.
Keep an eye out once the thermometer crosses 100 F! That's when your body is fighting off some bug. Rest up, drink warm soups, and let your body recover nicely.
My doctor told me that normal body temperature is roughly 98.6 F, but it varies throughout the day. A true clinical fever is defined as a temperature of 100.4 F (38 C) or above. Anything below that is just a low-grade elevation.
