What is conisdered a fever?

My son felt a bit warm last night, but the thermometer showed 99.5 F. Is this considered a fever, or is it still in the normal range? I always get confused about the exact temperature for fever.

Generally, a body temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degrees Celsius and above is considered a fever. Normal body temperature can fluctuate slightly during the day. It is always best to consult a doctor if the temperature stays high for more than a day.

According to my smartwatch and health tracker logs, normal resting temp is around 98.6 F. Anything crossing 100 F is flagged as a low-grade fever. If it hits 100.4 F, that is definitely a proper fever, so keep tracking it every few hours.

The body is just trying to clear out some toxins when the warmth rises. Normally, anything above 100.4 F is a fever. Rest well, keep your mind calm, drink warm water, and let your body heal itself.

For kids and even adults, we usually don't worry until the thermometer reads 100.4 F. I always keep a digital thermometer at home because manual ones are hard to read. If it stays high or the child looks dull, I directly call our paediatrician.

I used to panic even at 99 F thinking something was seriously wrong. Honestly, our bodies naturally warm up in the evening or after eating. Only 100.4 F and above is actual fever, so don't stress yourself out over minor changes.

I feel we call it a fever once it crosses 100 degrees. Before reaching for medicines, I usually put warm water strips on the forehead and give hot ginger-tulsi tea. But if the thermometer goes past 101, then you must take proper medical advice.

With my PCOS, my body temperature already fluctuates quite a bit. But my doctor told me that a medical fever is strictly 100.4 F or higher. I try not to self-diagnose and just check with my doctor if I feel unwell.

Jab sharir 100 degree se upar garam ho jaye, tabhi bukhar maante hain. Thoda garm lagne par turant goli nahi khani chahiye. Aaram karo, khub paani piyo, aur agar tapman badhe toh doctor babu ko dikhao.
