What is cardiac asthma?

My mother, who has a history of heart issues, has been having breathing difficulties lately, especially at night. Her doctor used the term 'cardiac asthma'. What exactly is cardiac asthma, and is it serious?

True, it is definitely related to heart issues and not regular asthma. Always best to get a proper heart checkup done if you have coughing fits at night.

While gentle breathing exercises help relax the nervous system, cardiac asthma is a serious condition where heart weakness causes fluid buildup in the lungs. Please do not try to treat this with just pranayama, you must follow your doctor's medical advice.

Yaar, ye cardiac asthma asthma nahi hota, heart weakness ki wajah se lungs mein congestion ho jata hai. Haan, symptoms bilkul wheezing jaise lagte hain, but iska treatment doctor hi decide karega, ignore mat karna na.

My granddad had this wheezing issue and we thought it was just dust allergy. Turns out his heart was struggling to pump properly and it was cardiac asthma, so don't take it lightly.

When my uncle had this, we took him to a major hospital and the doctors explained that it is fluid in the lungs due to congestive heart failure. Please go to a good medical facility and ask your doctor clearly about the treatment plan.

I noticed my dad's heart rate spikes and breathing changes on his smartwatch during the night, which helped us catch his cardiac asthma early. Definitely track symptoms closely and share the data with your doctor.

It must be really tough dealing with breathing issues. Just make sure to get a proper cardiologist's opinion instead of treating it with normal asthma inhalers, as the root cause is different.

I totally get it, hearing terms like this can be really scary and confusing. It basically means wheezing caused by heart trouble, so please support your loved ones and take them to a cardiologist for a clear diagnosis.

If your doctor suspects this, you will need tests like a 2D Echo or an ECG to check the heart. Plan your budget because these cardiac tests can cost around 2000 to 5000 rupees depending on the lab, but getting them done early avoids bigger hospital bills later.

We panicked so badly when the doctor mentioned cardiac asthma for my mother. But once she got the right medication for her heart, the wheezing settled down nicely, so please stay calm and follow the treatment.

I recently had severe breathlessness and coughing at night, and my cardiologist diagnosed it as cardiac asthma. After starting my heart medications and fluid tablets, my breathing has improved vastly.

Haan na, log thoda confuse ho jaate hain naam se. This is actually related to heart failure where fluid backflow causes wheezing, not real lung asthma. Doctor se discuss karna is the safest option always.

At our age, even a small cough turns out to be a heart-related term like cardiac asthma! Jokes apart, it is just fluid retention due to heart performance, so let the cardiologists do their job.
