What is best for a fever tylenol or ibuprofen?

My younger brother has a high fever, and I have both Tylenol and Ibuprofen at home. I'm confused about which one would be better to give him for fever reduction. Which is best for a fever, Tylenol or Ibuprofen?

I used to panic and mix both medicines thinking the fever would go down faster, which is actually quite risky. My doctor explained that paracetamol (Tylenol) is usually the safest starting point for simple fever. Once I kept myself hydrated and took just one prescribed tablet, the fever came down naturally, so don't worry.

Honestly, whenever I get a fever, Tylenol (paracetamol) is my first choice because it is much gentler on the stomach. Ibuprofen is good if you also have body aches, but you shouldn't take it on an empty stomach at all. Just make sure to check the dosage with a doc so you don't take too much.

When my fever spikes at 3 AM, I usually reach for paracetamol because I don't want to risk acidity from ibuprofen on an empty stomach. Ibuprofen is great for that heavy body-crushing ache, but honestly, sleep and two bottles of water are just as important. Don't play chemist in the middle of the night, ask a doc if it doesn't go down!

I know how exhausting and stressful it feels when a high fever just won't come down and you're shivering. Paracetamol (Tylenol) is usually the go-to for lowering the temperature gently. Please don't stress yourself out too much, just rest, keep a cold cloth on your forehead, and contact a doctor if you feel very weak.

For a regular fever, paracetamol (Tylenol) is generally preferred as it has fewer interactions. Since I have thyroid issues and take daily morning medication, I always consult my doctor before taking other pills like ibuprofen to avoid putting extra stress on my liver and kidneys. Please get a proper consult if the fever persists.

In our experience, paracetamol has always been the safest and most reliable remedy for simple fever and mild headache. Ibuprofen is strong and can sometimes cause stomach irritation, especially for elders. Drink plenty of warm water, take rest, and if the fever stays for more than two days, go see your family doctor.

Paracetamol is usually safer for diabetics as ibuprofen can sometimes affect kidney function if used long-term or when dehydrated. When you have a fever, your blood sugar levels can also fluctuate, so keep checking your glucose and stay hydrated with unsweetened liquids. Always confirm with your physician before taking any painkiller.
