What is alt liver function?

My husband recently had some blood tests, and the report showed his 'ALT liver function' was high. What does ALT mean, and what could cause it to be elevated?

ALT is a liver enzyme. If its levels are high in your blood, it usually means there's some damage or inflammation in your liver. It's a key indicator for liver health. Doctor se baat karo, wo hi sahi advice denge.

Oh, ALT! I remember getting anxious about my liver numbers once. It's Alanine Aminotransferase, an enzyme in your liver cells. If your ALT levels are high, it usually points to some kind of liver damage or inflammation. It's always best to follow up with a doctor to figure out why it's elevated.

ALT stands for Alanine Aminotransferase. It's an enzyme found mainly in the liver. When liver cells are damaged, ALT leaks into the bloodstream, so elevated levels indicate liver injury. It's one of the common markers doctors check for liver function.

I just went through this! ALT is basically a liver enzyme, and if your levels are high, it means your liver is a bit stressed or damaged. My doctor told me it's a common indicator for liver health. They will usually do more tests to find the exact reason behind the high ALT.
