What is a tb skin test supposed to look like?

I'm going to get a TB skin test next week for my college admission. I want to be prepared for what to expect afterward. What is a TB skin test supposed to look like if it's negative or positive?

Beta, after a TB skin test, there will be a small bump, like a mosquito bite, where they put the injection. If it becomes a big, red, hard swelling after two-three days, then it might be positive. But only the doctor should check and tell you. For any small rashes, sometimes neem water helps, but for this, listen to the doctor completely.

Haan, toh TB skin test mein na, ek chhota sa injection lagate hain haath pe. Fir usko 2-3 din baad check karte hain. Agar wahaan ek red, thoda raised aur hard spot ban gaya hai, toh matlab positive. Na toh bas chhota sa nishan hoga. Doctor hi properly dekhenge.

So after the TB skin test, is it normal for it to itch a bit? Mine always feels a bit itchy, but never forms a big bump. Does anyone else get that? I always worry if I should be seeing something more, even though the doctor said it was fine.

Okay, so for a TB skin test, they inject a small amount of liquid under your skin, usually on the forearm. Initially, it's just a tiny bump. Then after 2-3 days, if it's positive, a firm, red, raised area (called induration) forms. The size of this induration determines if it's positive. I was also curious about this when I read about it online.

After a TB skin test, you get a tiny bump initially, like a small bite. If it's positive after 2-3 days, it'll be a noticeable, firm, red raised area. Otherwise, it just goes away. All this health talk makes me hungry, planning to order some nice biryani tonight to distract myself from worrying about bumps!

My doctor explained that after a TB skin test (Mantoux test), an initial small wheal forms, which disappears quickly. The result is read 48-72 hours later. A positive reaction is indicated by a firm, raised area (induration), not just redness, of a specific diameter. The size that counts as positive varies based on your risk factors, so professional measurement is essential.
