What is a slight stroke called?

My neighbour had some sudden weakness on one side of his body for a short time, and it went away. His doctor called it a 'slight stroke'. What's the medical term for a slight stroke, and is it a warning sign for something bigger?

I can only share what my uncle went through. He had some sudden numbness and weakness that lasted a few minutes. The doctors called it a TIA, or 'mini-stroke'. They said it's a warning sign and needs attention. Beyond that, best to ask a professional.

For something like a stroke, you absolutely need to consult a neurologist. There isn't really a 'slight stroke' term in medical language, but they might refer to a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) which has similar symptoms but resolves quickly. Always ask your doctor clearly for correct information.

A 'slight stroke' is often called a TIA or 'mini-stroke'! 🧠 It's like a warning shot, symptoms are temporary but it's super important to get it checked by a doctor right away! Don't ignore it! ✨

I've heard the term 'mini-stroke' or TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) when looking up stroke symptoms online. It's where the blood flow to the brain is blocked temporarily, causing symptoms similar to a stroke but for a shorter time. It's considered a serious warning sign for a future full stroke.

So, is a TIA really less serious, or just a warning? I feel like any brain-related issue is terrifying. Has anyone here or someone they know experienced a TIA? What was it like? Did you feel really scared after?
