What is a sleep technician?

My cousin works in a hospital and mentioned he's a 'sleep technician'. I'm not clear on what that job involves. Is it mainly about setting up equipment for sleep studies, or do they do more than that?

A sleep technician matlab woh log jo sleep studies mein help karte hain na. Jab koi sleep lab mein jaata hai, toh woh saare wires attach karte hain, aur monitor karte hain ki neend mein sab theek chal raha hai ya nahi. Ho na? Bahut important kaam hai yeh.

A sleep technician is a person who helps the doctor with sleep tests, like when they ask you to sleep in a special room. They set up the machines and watch you. For good sleep, we always focused on early dinner and a calm mind. But these technicians help when the natural ways are not enough. It's a new kind of help, I suppose.

A sleep technician is a trained professional who assists sleep specialists in performing sleep studies. They attach electrodes and monitor data like brain waves, breathing, and heart rate during your sleep. For individuals managing diabetes, consistent and good quality sleep is very important. If a sleep study is recommended, the technician's role is crucial in gathering accurate information for diagnosis.

I totally get why you'd ask, it's a specific role! A sleep technician is a healthcare professional who conducts and scores sleep studies (polysomnograms). They are the ones who prepare you for the study, connect all the monitoring equipment, and observe you overnight to gather data for the sleep doctor. Their work is vital for diagnosing sleep disorders.
