What is a migraine headache?

Since my college days, I sometimes get these really bad headaches, like a throbbing pain on one side of my head. My sister calls it a migraine, but I'm not sure if it's that serious. Can someone explain what exactly a migraine headache is?

A migraine headache is like a super-villain version of a normal headache! 💥 It's usually throbbing, often on one side, and can make you feel super sensitive to light, sound, and even smells. Nausea is a common unwanted guest too! 🤢 It's definitely more than just a bad headache, so take it seriously! ✨

It's not just any headache, it's a migraine headache. It's very severe, often feels like pulsing on one side of your head, and you can get nauseous or sensitive to light. Resting in a quiet, dark room helps me a bit, but for proper management, a doctor's advice is key. Simple painkillers often don't work for this.

Ugh, a migraine headache? It's the kind of headache that makes you forget all about your cravings! No biryani, no chaat, just darkness and silence. It's a throbbing pain, usually on one side, and makes you super sensitive to light and noise. Sometimes even a cup of strong chai can't fix it, unfortunately. 😫

Oh, is it that really painful one where you can't even open your eyes properly? I sometimes get headaches so bad I feel like I'm going to throw up, and all sounds are too loud. Is that a migraine? Does anyone else feel like their head is throbbing constantly during it?

A migraine headache is a neurological condition characterized by recurrent, severe headaches, often accompanied by throbbing pain, sensitivity to light/sound, and sometimes aura. It significantly impacts daily functioning. It's a specific diagnosis requiring medical attention, not just a severe tension headache.

Dekho bhai, migraine headache matlab bohot tez sir dard. It's not your normal 'thoda sar dard ho raha hai'. Ismein poora sir ya ek side bohot dukhta hai, chakkar aate hain, ulat-palat bhi ho sakta hai. Light aur awaaz se bhi problem hoti hai. Agar aisa ho toh doctor ko dikhao, time waste mat karo.

My doctor explained that a migraine headache is a primary headache disorder, meaning it's not caused by another condition. It's characterized by moderate to severe throbbing pain, often unilateral, and is frequently associated with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, photophobia (light sensitivity), and phonophobia (sound sensitivity). It can be preceded by an aura in about 25-30% of cases.
