What is a hunger pain?

Sometimes I get this really intense feeling in my stomach when I haven't eaten for a while. Is that what people call a 'hunger pain'? It's quite uncomfortable.

Haan na, when the stomach is empty for too long, it starts paining and making weird noises. It is actually just your stomach contracting because of acid. A little warm water or a light biscuit usually calms it down immediately.

Yes, empty stomach acid is the main cause. Drinking a glass of warm water or buttermilk works wonders to neutralize it quickly.

These are basically hunger pangs, beta, caused by stomach acid when you keep your stomach empty for hours. It is very common if you skip breakfast or have long gaps between meals. Try to keep some roasted chana or dry fruits with you to avoid this acidity.

My doctor explained that hunger pains are stomach contractions triggered by a hormone called ghrelin when it's time to eat. However, he also warned that if the pain is very sharp or feels like burning, it could be gastritis or an ulcer. It's best not to ignore it if it happens every day.

It is just your body's natural way of telling you that it needs food. Try eating small, frequent meals instead of big gaps so your stomach stays calm. Take care and don't skip your meals.
