What is a high psa number for prostate cancer?

My friend was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer after a PSA test. I'm wondering, what is considered a 'high' PSA number that raises concern for prostate cancer? Should I get tested too?

My dad's PSA is 7.5 and I am extremely anxious about it. Has anyone else's father had a similar elevated PSA level and it turned out to be something non-cancerous like prostatitis?

My uncle’s PSA number came out to be 5.8, which was flagged as high. We immediately visited a specialist instead of trying to figure it out ourselves. It turned out to be a mild prostate enlargement, but getting professional help was the best decision.

I totally get it, seeing a high PSA score can make anyone panic about cancer. Usually, 4 ng/mL is the borderline, and higher numbers need attention. Please stay strong and get a professional opinion to clear all doubts.

Let's be clear: a PSA above 4 ng/mL is elevated, and above 10 ng/mL is very high. Don't waste time on forums trying to self-diagnose. Book an appointment with a top urologist and get an MRI or biopsy if they recommend it.

I totally understand how stressful it is to wait for these medical results. A PSA over 4 ng/mL is considered elevated, but please don't jump to conclusions yet as infections can also raise it. Hang in there and consult a urologist.

Humare yahan doctor babu ne bataya tha ki 4 se upar ka PSA number thoda bada mana jata hai. Aap darna mat, acche urologist doctor ke paas lekar jaiye, woh sab sahi se samjha denge.

Normally, PSA levels above 4.0 ng/mL are high. While maintaining a balanced vegetarian diet rich in lycopene from tomatoes is good for prostate health, you must consult a medical specialist for proper diagnosis and tests.
