What is a high fever for a 5 year old?

My 5-year-old son has been running a fever since morning, and I'm trying to gauge if it's serious. What temperature range is generally considered a high fever for a child of his age?

In our family, my mother-in-law suggests putting a damp cloth on the forehead, which is very good. But for a 5-year-old, if the temperature crosses 101 or 102 degrees Fahrenheit, it is high fever. I always message our doctor immediately to be absolutely safe.

Dekhiye, 101 se upar high fever hi hai. Normal paani ki patti rakhiye sir par aur dhyan rahe ki paani jyada thanda na ho. Bache ko light khichdi do aur paracetamol ki tablet ya syrup jo doctor ne pehle likhi ho wahi do, bina soche koi nayi dawa mat do.

Hey, relax. 101 or 102 degrees is considered high fever for a 5-year-old kid. Make sure they are wearing very light clothes and are drinking plenty of water or coconut water. If the fever stays high even after paracetamol, please take them to the clinic.

My son had 102 fever last year and we got worried. Be careful with glucose drinks or sweet juices to keep them hydrated; plain water or light salted buttermilk is better for their system. Always consult your family doctor before giving any high dosage medicine.

101.5 to 102 F is high fever! Just keep them hydrated with some tasty homemade soups and juice. 🥣 Give them their favorite cartoon to watch so they stay happy and take rest. Get well soon to the little one!

Oh god, fever always makes me so anxious! Usually 102 is quite high and I would be checking the baby's temperature every 30 minutes. Please keep a digital thermometer handy and check if they are active. If they look lethargic, please run to the hospital.

Anything above 101.5°F is high fever for a 5-year-old. Please consult your paediatrician immediately.
