What is a good sugar level with diabetes?

I've had diabetes for quite a while now, and sometimes I get confused about what my blood sugar levels should actually be. My doctor gives numbers, but I forget. What is considered a good sugar level for someone with diabetes?

Beta, in our times we tried to keep fasting under 100 or 110, and post-meals below 140. Along with your regular doctor medicine, you can drink a little methi dana water in the morning, it helps soothe the stomach. But don't rely only on home tips, regular checkups are very important.

According to my endocrinologist, the ideal fasting blood sugar for a diabetic should be between 80 to 130 mg/dL. Two hours after starting a meal, it should ideally be under 180 mg/dL. These targets can vary based on your age and health history, so do ask your physician for your personal range.

I have lived with diabetes for twenty-five years now, and I used to panic at every small fluctuation. Over time I learned that keeping your HbA1c below 7% is the real goal. Don't worry about daily minor ups and downs, just stay consistent with your walks and medication.

It used to make me cry and feel like a failure whenever my readings crossed 160. If you are feeling stressed about your numbers, please know you are not alone. It takes time to find the right balance of food and medication that works for your body.

Let's be clear, standard medical guidelines say fasting should be 80-130 mg/dL and post-prandial under 180 mg/dL. Anything consistently higher than this needs a lifestyle overhaul or a dosage review. Don't guess, just buy a good digital monitor and check regularly.

My doctor told me to aim for under 140 after eating, but honestly, even keeping it under 150 on bad days is a win for me. I just track with my smartphone glucometer daily. Don't stress too much if it jumps occasionally, just watch your carbs.

I have to monitor my dad's sugar levels all the time because he gets lazy about it. We usually try to keep his fasting around 100-120. If it goes way above 180 after food, we immediately make him go for a brisk walk around the block.
