What is a good snack for a diabetic before bed?

My father has diabetes, and we're always looking for healthy snack options for him. He gets hungry before bed sometimes, but we don't want his sugar to spike. What's a good snack for a diabetic to have before bed?

Choosing a late-night snack when you have diabetes is so stressful because you worry about morning spikes. I am always anxious about this, but I think a handful of almonds is generally safe. Please check with your doctor to be absolutely sure.

Any bedtime snack can affect your fasting blood sugar readings directly. It is highly recommended to consult your diabetologist or endocrinologist before starting a bedtime snack routine, as everyone's insulin levels react differently.

I can only share what works for me personally, which is a small slice of paneer or a few unsalted almonds. This doesn't spike my sugar levels at night. Please talk to a professional dietitian to get a proper diet chart.

Diabetes control is very tricky, haan na. My uncle usually has a small cup of roasted chana or a few walnuts before sleeping to avoid midnight hunger. But always measure your sugar levels to see what suits your body.
