What is a good diabetic lunch?

My wife has diabetes and we struggle to find variety in her lunch. Could anyone suggest a good diabetic lunch option that is healthy and not boring?

When my son was diagnosed, packing his school lunch box was a challenge. Now I send brown rice or multi-grain rotis with a large portion of leafy green vegetables and grilled paneer or dal. It keeps his energy steady all afternoon.

Eating a fresh salad of cucumber and tomato before your main meal naturally limits your carb intake. But if you feel dizzy or excessively thirsty even after changing your lunch, please see your doctor immediately to check your dosage.

Honestly, swapping white rice for foxtail millet or quinoa for lunch changed my life. I don't feel sleepy at work anymore, and my sugar levels stay completely under control.

I was researching diabetic meal prep for my grandmother. A balanced plate should ideally be half vegetables, one-quarter lean protein like chicken or dal, and only one-quarter complex carbs like brown rice.

Haan, heavy North Indian lunches are risky na. Better to skip the butter rotis and have simple missi roti with a big bowl of green sabzi and dahi. It fills you up perfectly without any sugar spike.

I neglected my lunch proportions and suffered from severe neuropathy later on. Please do not self-manage your meals; ask your doctor for a referral to a certified dietician who can assess your kidney function first.
