What is a good amount of deep sleep?

My fitness tracker says I'm not getting enough deep sleep. I wake up feeling so tired even after 7-8 hours. How much deep sleep should a person actually get?

Beta, at my age, I have realized that obsessing over exact hours only ruins sleep more. Earlier I used to count every minute, but now I feel if you get even 1 to 1.5 hours of deep sleep and wake up fresh, it is more than enough. Just keep your mind peaceful before sleeping, everything else falls in place.

You can try drinking warm turmeric milk or chamomile tea an hour before sleeping, it really helps the mind settle. But if you are constantly waking up gasping for air or feeling extremely tired every single morning, please consult a doctor to rule out things like sleep apnea.

Honestly, around 1.5 to 2 hours of deep sleep is amazing for the body! 🌟 Don't stress too much if it shows less on some days, just focus on keeping your bedroom cool and dark. Sleep well! 😴

My smartwatch shows around 1 hour 15 mins of deep sleep on good days, and I feel totally fine. On days I hit the gym hard, it goes up a bit. Anything around 15-20% of your total sleep is actually decent.

Please don't ignore this if you are sleeping 8 hours but still feeling exhausted. I ignored my poor sleep quality for two years thinking it was just work stress, till it badly affected my heart health. Get a proper clinical sleep study done if you feel something is off.

I used to get barely 20 minutes of deep sleep and ignored it, which eventually worsened my chronic fatigue and high blood pressure. I highly recommend visiting a physician or a sleep specialist instead of trying to self-diagnose through smartwatches.

Deep sleep? Logically it should be around an hour or two, but with kids and early morning alarms, even getting uninterrupted light sleep feels like a luxury! If you are getting 1 hour of deep sleep, count yourself very lucky.

According to most sleep tracker data, adults should aim for about 15% to 25% of their total sleep time in the deep sleep stage. So if you sleep for 7 hours, around 60 to 90 minutes is the sweet spot. Tracking trends over a month is much more useful than looking at a single night's data.

I was just reading an article on this yesterday! It said normal adults need about 1 to 1.5 hours of deep sleep per night for proper cellular recovery. I am trying to see if avoiding screens after 9 PM actually increases this timing.

Humare yahan toh kehte hain ki bina chinta ke soya jaye toh wahi sabse acchi neend hai. If you sleep deeply for even 1-2 hours without waking up in the middle, your body will feel completely energised. Do not worry too much about phone numbers and calculations.
