What is a cryptogenic stroke?

My uncle recently had a stroke, and the doctors said it was 'cryptogenic'. We are all very worried and confused. Could someone please explain what this means?

I was just reading about this online yesterday because a family friend had one. It's basically a stroke where the doctors can't find the exact cause even after doing all the tests. It sounds so scary when you don't know why it happened, but apparently, it is quite common.

Bro, basically 'cryptogenic' just means hidden or unexplained. So a cryptogenic stroke is when someone gets a stroke but the medical tests don't show any obvious reason like a clot or high BP. It's like your body threw a glitch and the doctors are also trying to figure it out.

A cryptogenic stroke is a stroke of undetermined origin. If a family member is going through this, don't waste time looking for home remedies; get a comprehensive cardiac and neurological workup done immediately. Quick diagnosis and rehabilitation are critical to prevent future episodes.

When a stroke happens without a clear cause, doctors prescribe a lot of expensive scans like MRI and Echo to find the reason. I suggest checking if your insurance covers these diagnostic tests or finding a reputed diagnostic center that offers package discounts. Plan your expenses carefully because the post-stroke therapy also costs a bit.

Having thyroid issues has taught me that we need to keep a close eye on our cardiovascular health. A cryptogenic stroke is when the source of the stroke remains a mystery after initial exams. Make sure to schedule regular blood tests and follow up with a neurologist to monitor your heart and blood vessels.

Agree with everyone, it is essentially a stroke with no clear medical cause found yet. It is highly recommended to wear a heart monitor if the doctor suggests, to check for any hidden rhythm issues.

It is basically a stroke where the exact trigger is a mystery. Wishing anyone dealing with this a super speedy recovery! Stay positive and take it one day at a time, the doctors will surely find a way to manage it.

Hearing about strokes really makes me want to cut down on my daily butter chicken and samosas! A cryptogenic stroke is when the cause is a total mystery. It's a huge wake-up call to start eating healthy and keep the cholesterol in check, even if those hot jalebis keep calling my name.
