What is a 2 step tb test?

My new employer is asking for a '2 step TB test' as part of the joining process. I've only heard of a single TB test before. What exactly is a '2 step TB test' and how is it different?

It is a gentle way for doctors to double-check your health by doing two separate skin tests a couple of weeks apart. Have faith and go through with it peacefully. Taking care of our health is a beautiful way to respect this life.

Beta, in this test they do the skin injection twice within a few weeks to make sure there is no old, hidden TB infection in the body. It is very common when you join a new job or college. Do not worry, it is a very simple process.

Oh, I was so scared when my hospital asked for a 2-step test instead of a single one! But it's totally normal, they just want to trigger your body's immune memory if you had exposure long ago. It doesn't mean they think you have active TB.

I get so anxious about needle tests, and doing it twice sounds so exhausting. But it's just to make sure the first test didn't miss anything. Make sure you get the second shot done on the exact day the doctor tells you to.

Actually, I was just reading about this for my visa application. They do a skin test, read it after 2 days, and then repeat the whole thing a week or two later. It prevents false negative results, which is actually pretty smart.

I completely understand if you are feeling stressed about getting tested twice. It's just a screening method where they do two skin tests to be absolutely sure of your status. It is a very routine procedure, so please take a deep breath.
