What increases risk of stroke?

My father had a stroke last year, and now my doctor is telling me I have high blood pressure, which increases my risk. What are the other factors that can increase the risk of a stroke? I want to be proactive about my health.

Man, too much oily food, high salt, and cholesterol are major triggers. I love my samosas and biryanis, but we have to balance it out because clogged arteries directly lead to stroke risks. Moderation is key, guys.

I used to panic every time I felt a slight headache or numbness, thinking it was a stroke. My doctor reassured me that high BP, smoking, and diabetes are the actual main risk factors, not every little symptom. Just keep your blood pressure in check and you will be fine.

I was just reading about this yesterday. Apparently, chronic stress, sitting for long hours, and poor sleep can also slowly increase stroke risk over time. It is scary how modern lifestyle habits play such a big role.

My grandfather had a minor stroke, and the doctors said his uncontrolled high BP and high cholesterol were the main causes. If you have older family members, please make sure they take their medicines on time and walk daily. It really helps.

A sedentary lifestyle and constant mental tension block the smooth flow of energy and blood in the body. I have seen that practicing light yoga and daily pranayama helps regulate blood pressure, which is a major risk factor for strokes. Stay active and keep breathing deep.

Hormonal issues and some medications can sometimes affect blood circulation, which slightly adds to the risk. Having PCOS made me realize how important it is to keep an eye on cardiovascular health. It is always safer to consult your doctor for a proper risk assessment.
