What herbs interfere with thyroid medication?

I have hypothyroidism and take medication daily. I'm careful about what I eat and drink, but I'm also exploring some herbal supplements. Do any herbs interfere with thyroid medication? I need to be careful.

Please be very careful with this. I once tried some Ayurvedic herbs for something else, not knowing they could affect my thyroid meds, and my TSH levels went haywire. It took me months to stabilize again. Always, always check with your endocrinologist before taking anything new, even if it's natural.

Oh, this is tough because sometimes 'healthy' herbs are in our regular food too! I remember reading about certain superfoods or supplements. Better to consult a doc, warna apni favorite chutney ya haldi doodh bhi problem na kar de!

Dekho, thyroid ka dawa bahut sensitive hota hai. Koi bhi herb lene se pehle doctor ko pooch lo. Net pe padhne se achha hai expert se baat karo. Risk mat lo.

I understand wanting to try natural things, I've been there myself. But with thyroid, it's a different ball game. Certain herbs like ashwagandha or brahmi, while good otherwise, can sometimes interact. Best to show your doctor the list of whatever you're thinking of taking, they'll guide you right.

This is a very important question, beta. Many people don't realize that even 'natural' things can be potent. While some herbs like guggul or specific seaweed might be thought to help thyroid, they can actually interfere with the absorption or effectiveness of your prescribed medication. Always discuss with your doctor or a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner who knows about drug interactions, before adding any supplements or herbs.

Please don't ignore this question and try anything without asking your doctor. I once thought a little herbal tea wouldn't hurt and it messed up my diabetes medication balance. It's better to be safe than sorry with such important medicines, learn from my mistake!
