What helps lower fever?

My young daughter has a fever and it's making her very uncomfortable. Besides medicines, what are some simple things we can do at home to help bring her fever down?

For fever, please don't just blindly follow whatever obscure 'remedy' pops up on Google. Some of those can be dangerous. Stick to the basics: doctor-prescribed paracetamol, plenty of fluids, and rest. If the fever is high or doesn't go down, always consult a doctor. Medical science is there for a reason, verify with a professional.

I used to panic every time I got a fever, thinking it was something very serious. But usually, for common fevers, it's our body fighting infection. What helps is taking paracetamol as advised by a doctor, staying hydrated with water or ORS, and resting. A cool compress on the forehead also feels good. It usually passes in a few days, so don't stress too much unless it's very high or persistent.

I was just researching this for a friend. Apparently, paracetamol is the go-to, but also lots and lots of fluids are essential. Keeping the room cool and wearing light clothes also helps dissipate heat. I read somewhere that eating light, easily digestible food is also important. So, basically, rest, meds, and hydration.

While simple fevers are common, for me, managing thyroid means I always have to be extra careful with any health changes. For fever, after taking paracetamol and resting, if it persists, I make sure to inform my endocrinologist. Regular follow-ups with your doctor are important to ensure fever isn't masking something else, especially if you have underlying conditions.

Haan na, fever mein toh sabse pehle rest aur paani bahut zaroori hai. Doctor jo dawa dete hain, woh toh leni hi hai. Aur thode thode time pe wet cloth se body wipe karo, especially forehead aur armpits. Pet pe thoda light khaana, khichdi wagerah. Ho jaata hai theek, tension mat lo.

Oh, fever! The worst part is when you can't enjoy your food. What helps me is drinking warm soups and broths; they're comforting and hydrating. And for actual lowering, a paracetamol, but also I find a cool shower helps a bit. Then back to bed, dreaming of chaat when I'm better! But hydration is key.

I've had a low-grade fever for a couple of days and it's making me quite worried. Does anyone else get anxious when they have a fever? I'm taking paracetamol, but it's not going completely. Is there anything else I can do to bring it down faster? I'm just hoping it's nothing serious.
