What helps fatty liver?

My father recently found out he has fatty liver. He's a bit worried about it. What are some common lifestyle changes or dietary habits that generally help with fatty liver? We want to support him.

Fatty liver, huh? Sounds like your liver is trying to give you a big, cuddly hug you didn't ask for. 😂 But on a serious note, my uncle got rid of his by saying goodbye to all the yummy fried stuff and hello to daily walks. Basically, less 'fatty' in the diet, more 'active' in life. Always chat with a doctor first though, for personalized advice!

Beti, fatty liver is becoming common these days. In our village, people say to eat light food, lots of fruits and vegetables. Avoid too much oil and fried things, like pakoras. And walk every day, even just a little bit. These simple things make a big difference, but always listen to the doctor first, he knows best.

For fatty liver, the most practical solution is lifestyle change. Cut down on sugar, processed foods, and unhealthy fats. Increase fiber intake with whole grains and fresh produce. Regular exercise, even 30 minutes of brisk walking daily, helps immensely. And reduce alcohol consumption significantly, if any. These changes are free and effective, but need discipline.

Fatty liver is preventable and reversible for many. The direct approach is weight loss if you're overweight, a healthy diet with less sugar and refined carbs, and regular exercise. No magic pills. Get routine check-ups with your doctor and follow their specific advice. Consistency is the key here.

I was diagnosed with fatty liver a few years back, and it was a wake-up call. What truly helped me was a strict diet plan given by a nutritionist – mainly cutting out sugar and processed foods, and reducing carb intake. Coupled with brisk walking for an hour every day. It's tough initially, but my liver enzymes are normal now. Be patient and consistent, and definitely work with your doctor.
