What helps ear infection pain?

My little one has an ear infection and is really cranky because of the pain. We've given him what the doctor prescribed, but is there anything else that generally helps with ear infection pain, like a comforting home remedy?

Oh, ear infection pain is truly terrible, I remember having it as a child. My mother used to put warm oil, sometimes with a little garlic, in my ear. But those days were different. Nowadays, it's always best to see a doctor quickly for proper drops and medicine. Don't suffer in silence, dear.

Ear infection pain can be really scary, I once thought something serious was wrong! But usually, if you get it checked by a doctor, they can give you antibiotics or ear drops that clear it up in a few days. Don't worry too much, just get it checked out ASAP.

For ear infection pain, you absolutely must see a doctor. There are too many dubious 'remedies' online that can make it worse. An infection needs proper medical diagnosis and treatment, don't mess around with your ears. Get it checked.

My doctor, when I had an ear infection, advised pain relievers like ibuprofen or paracetamol for the discomfort. He also stressed the importance of completing the full course of prescribed antibiotic ear drops or oral antibiotics, even if the pain subsides. Sometimes a warm, moist cloth applied to the ear can also provide some comfort.

Ear pain is so uncomfortable. A warm compress on the ear can sometimes provide temporary relief. But please see a doctor for the right treatment.
