What helps a fever?
My son woke up with a fever this morning and is feeling quite unwell. I've given him some paracetamol, but I'm looking for other ways to help make him more comfortable. What else really helps when someone has a fever?

Fever can be a sign of many things, some serious. I once ignored a persistent fever and it led to complications. So, while you can take a paracetamol for temporary relief and try sponging, please don't hesitate to see a doctor if it's high, doesn't go down, or comes with other worrying symptoms. Get it checked.
Personally, when I get a fever, I rest a lot, drink plenty of fluids like ORS or coconut water, and take a paracetamol if the fever is high. Sometimes a cold compress on the forehead helps too. But this is just what I do; I always check with my doctor if it lasts more than a day or two.
Hey, don't stress too much, almost everyone gets a fever sometimes! Take some paracetamol, drink lots of fluids like nimbu pani or plain water, and just rest up. A cool damp cloth on your forehead also feels nice. If it doesn't go down in a day or two, then call the doctor, okay?
Rest, plenty of fluids, and a light blanket can help. Over-the-counter fever reducers are also good for comfort.
My health app actually suggests focusing on hydration and getting proper rest when you have a fever. Take a paracetamol if it's high, but monitor your temperature. If it's persistent or very high, or if you have other symptoms, a doctor's visit is essential. Don't rely on just apps for serious symptoms.
